What is a Communication Management Plan?

It is a document that describes how different groups and teams will communicate throughout the project.

How is it used?

The Communication Management Plan is used to help the team think through and understand types of communication mechanisms’ needed for the project to be successful.  The amount of communication may vary depending on the size of your team and complexity of the project.

Contents:

• Project stakeholder identification
• Identify project communication resources such as collaboration spaces, email distribution lists, and teleconferencing system information
• Document formal communication requirements for weekly status reports, weekly team meetings, weekly project plan updates, and monthly executive committee meetings
• Approvals and sing-offs
